Savings and Transitional Provisions

The Savings Provisions and the Transitional Provisions in the Cleaning Award commenced operation on 1 January 2010 and will cease operation when the  transition for a particular classification is completed or, no later than the first pay period on or after 31 December 2014.

An employee may be entitled to the:-

  • part time allowance under Clause 12.4 - Part Time Employment;
  • the casual loading under Clause 12.5 - Casual Employment; and
  • penalty/shift rates for working ordinary hours outside 6.00am till 6.00pm Monday to Friday, or;
  • Saturdays, or
  • Sundays or
  • public holidays under Clause 27 - Penalty Rates.

However, as a result of the operation of Schedule A and Schedule B, the minimum hourly rate payable under Clause 12.4 - Part Time Employment, or Clause 12.5 - Casual Employment, or Clause 16 - Minimum Wages, or Clause 27 - Penalty Rates may in fact be a rate that is contained in either Schedule A - Savings Provisions or Schedule B - Transitional Provisions.

As a result of the operation of Schedule A and Schedule B, the minimum hourly rate payable under:-

  • Clause 12.4 - Part Time Employment, or
  • Clause 12.5 - Casual Employment, or
  • Clause 16 - Minimum Wages, or
  • Clause 27 - Penalty Rates

may in fact be a rate that is contained in either Schedule A - Savings Provisions or Schedule B - Transitional Provisions.

The rates in Schedule A are frozen.

The rates in Scheule B move in line with the minimum wages increases of FWA.
