Change of Contract

Under the Cleaning Award an employer (the outgoing contractor) may be exempt from paying redundancy to employees who are terminated due to the loss of a contract and who are engaged to work for the incoming contractor.

However, the exemption does not extend to notice of termination.

Change of Contract is defined in the Cleaning Award as meaning:- "the termination of a particular contract for cleaning services with an employer and the commencement of a new contract with a different employer at the same location."
